  • Data costs coverage

Since meetings went online the last two years, we became more acutely aware as a global organization that the cost of downloading and uploading data – and thus the cost of participating in online meetings – can vary greatly in different regions and countries. (See this overview of varying mobile data costs around the world)
The GYA therefore offers to members and new members from low and middle-income countries the option to request “data co-funding” for the purpose of participating in the 2022 online AGM and Conference; between 30-50 EURO depending on demand and your need.

We would make the transfer using https://www.worldremit.com/en.

Please write to franziska.guentner@globalyoungacademy.net with your request (sending her your country code, mobile number and your country of residence), by Thursday 9 June 2022.
Please, be aware, that not all phone providers support this. We will accommodate requests on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please have understanding if you don’t receive an answer right away, we will get back to you as soon as we can.

      GYA General Assembly Sessions
These are the core of any GYA Annual General Meeting, of course, and provide ample opportunity to discuss core GYA issues, and for members to vote on them. This year, among other items, we will discuss the proposed Code of Professional Behaviour and Conduct, and implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on young academy membership duration.

Do check whether you have the latest update installed, and whether you have your login credentials at the ready.

Heading into the third year of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was simply not possible to allow for a full in-person conference and AGM this year. Rest assured, facing this reality happened with a heavy heart. We all want to meet again, and it requires quite large amounts of strength to continue...
